Financial Aid

Get the Most out of College with as
Little Debt as Possible!

College is  e x p e n s i v e !

But do not worry, there are ways to lessen the financial stress.

The first step is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA. FAFSA is an online form that helps you show the amount that you and your family can afford to spend on college. This is called the Estimated Family Contribution or EFC for short. You can start filling out the FAFSA on October 1st of your senior year. Class of 2022 will be using 2020 taxes which will have been completed prior to October. If you want to get an idea of your EFC you can use the FAFSA4caster tool below. Click on the Understanding Financial Aid button below for more information.

It is important to fill out the FAFSA because you can qualify for up to $6200 in Federal Pell Grants. Colleges will also use your EFC to award need-based aid.

Colleges also offer merit scholarships based on GPA and test scores. In addition, there are local and national scholarships funded by various foundations and corporations.  Often scholarships are left un-applied for and you'll never know--you may be the only one applying so don't be nervous to send it in. And just think, the one hour you spend on that essay could amount to thousands of dollars towards your college tuition. Scroll below for scholarship resources.
